My Lords, I beg to ask His Majesty's Government the following Question, of which I have given private notice—namely, whether they have any statement to make on the development of the atom bomb by Russia.

THE PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (LORD HENDERSON)

My Lords, His Majesty's Government do not think it would be in the public interest to make any further statement at present beyond the announcement made on September 23.
