HL Deb 28 July 1949 vol 164 c631

Clause 3, page 4, line 43, leave out from first ("the") to ("and") in line 44 and insert ("principal activities of the Corporation and of the publicly-owned companies")

Clause 3, page 4, line 44, leave out from ("and") to ("as") in line 2 on page 5, and insert ("the availability of those products in such quantities, types, qualities and sizes and at such prices")

Clause 3, page 5, line 5, after ("purposes") insert ("and desire to purchase those products from the Corporation or from a publicly-owned company")

The Commons disagreed to the above Amendments for the following Reason:

Because a statutory requirement to promote the supply of products in which there is a free market and to meet demands for those products is unnecessary.
