HL Deb 15 December 1949 vol 165 c1663

In the Title, line 1, leave out from ("divorce") to ("making") in line 2, and insert ("and other matrimonial proceedings, the admissibility of evidence as to access, the charge and payment of percentage under the Lunacy Act, 1890, and the")

The Commons disagree to the above Amendment but propose the following Amendment in lieu thereof:

Line 1, leave out from ("divorce") to ("wards") in line 2, and insert ("and other matrimonial proceedings, the admissibility of evidence as to access, the charge and payment of percentage under the Lunacy Act, 1890, and to")

LORD LLEWELLIN

My Lords, the first Amendment is an alteration in the Title of the Bill. It makes very little difference. The Title ended up with "to making infants wards of court," and the Amendment makes it end in "to wards of court." Somebody in another place did not like the grammar of the words "to making infants wards of court." I beg to move that we agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.

Moved, That this House do agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.— (Lord Llewellin.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
