VISCOUNT ADDISON

My Lords, I intervene to make a brief announcement which is also being made at this time in another place. The preliminary discussions between Party leaders have low been concluded. The leaders of the Parties represented at the Conference have prepared an agreed statement on the course of these discussions and my right honourable friend the Prime Minister is presenting this on their behalf as a White Paper. Copies of the White Paper are now available in the Printed Paper Office.

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

My Lords, I do not think it would be desirable that I should at the present stage make any comment on the statement which has been made by the noble Viscount the Leader of the House. No doubt all your Lordships would wish to read this document, and no doubt the House will have to consider in due time the course they will take with regard to the Parliament Bill now before Parliament.
