§
Clause 39, page 27, line 30, at end insert—
("(6) A sub-committee under the last foregoing subsection may be appointed by the children's committees of two or more local authorities jointly, so however that a subcommittee so appointed shall include at least one member of each of the local authorities.")
§ LORD MORRISONMy Lords, the immediate purpose of this and the next Amendment is to permit the joint appointment of sub-committees to manage two approved schools in Wales one of which is now managed by a joint committee of four authorities. The general purpose is to permit the joint appointment of subcommittees where this is expedient, for example to manage a temporary reception centre serving the needs of two or more local authorities. I beg to move that this House do agree with the Commons in this Amendment.
§ Moved, that this House do agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Morrison.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
