Your Lordships will recall that this Bill, which has been introduced in order to re-enact in the form in which it applies to Scotland the Acquisition of Land (Authorisation Procedure) Act of 1946, was referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills. That Committee has now reported, and their Report is in your Lordships' hands. It will be noted that the Committee have made certain Amendments in the Bill to bring it into conformity with the existing law; and have called attention, in the Appendix to their Report, to the alterations in, and additions to, the Act of 1946 required to give effect to legislation passed between the coming into force of that Act and the present time. I beg to move that the Amendments proposed by the Committee should now be made en bloc. I will also move other Amendments standing in my name on the paper.
