HL Deb 11 June 1947 vol 148 c503

2.35 p.m.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR DOMINION AFFAIRS (VISCOUNT ADDISON)

My Lords, after conversations through the usual channels we hope that it will be found possible to avoid another late sitting to-night, and to conclude the business on the Order Paper without the necessity of an adjournment for dinner between 7 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. We have reason to expect that the Foreign Affairs debate will not extend beyond 6.3o p.m. or 6.45 p.m., and our proceedings on the Second Reading of the Statistics of Trade Bill are not likely to be lengthy, so that we may hope to rise at between 7.3o and 8 o'clock.

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

This is a very acceptable prognostication which I hope will be fulfilled.
