HL Deb 31 July 1947 vol 151 c850

Page 9, line 10 leave out subsection (3).

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, this subsection, your Lordships will remember, was inserted in this House by the Amendment moved by my noble and learned friend, Lord Simonds. It is only fair to reveal that Lord Simonds was acting not only with my consent but at my instigation in so doing, and I therefore thought it right before moving this Motion that I should consult Lord Simonds. He authorizes me to say that he is entirely willing that this subsection should be left out. Accordingly I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
