§ VISCOUNT SWINTONMy Lords, I beg leave to ask the Leader of the House a question with regard to business. I understand that there is to be some rearrangement of business, and the House would be grateful for a statement.
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR DOMINION AFFAIRS (VISCOUNT ADDISON)My Lords, I think it would be for the convenience of the House if we re-arranged business so that we should bring to an end at a definite hour the discussion on the Committee stage of the Companies Bill. I suggest that time should be 5.30 p.m., and not later, if that meets your Lordships' convenience. I think it would be generally acceptable if we did not continue the Committee stage on Thursday but resumed it on Tuesday next. I understand that there may be a wish to have a discussion on Thursday on the coal position. I have not had any official confirmation of that from your Lordships, but I think it would be convenient to have it on that day, after the other Orders, which are quite formal.
§ VISCOUNT SWINTONThat suggestion will be very much for the convenience of the House, and it will not hold up progress on the Companies Bill.
