HL Deb 10 December 1947 vol 153 c110
LORD BALFOUR of INCHRYE

My Lords, I beg to ask the question standing in my name on the Order Paper.

[The question was as follows:

To ask His Majesty's Government whether they have yet received a Report from the Committee on the Tudor Airliner, and when they expect to lay this report before Parliament.]

The MINISTER of CIVIL AVIATION (Lord Nathan)

My Lords, I understand that the Committee of Inquiry into the Tudor Aircraft expect to present their Report to my right honourable friend, the Minister of Supply, before the end of the week. A decision with regard to presentation of the Report to Parliament will be taken as soon as possible after the Report has been received.

LORD BALFOUR OF INCHRYE

My Lords, may I ask the Minister if he will bear in mind the large amount of public money and the large amount of public interest which are concerned in this, and will, therefore, endeavour to come to the decision, when the Report is presented, to have it laid before Parliament?

LORD NATHAN

I will certainly report what has been said by the noble Lord.
