HL Deb 19 November 1946 vol 144 c216
LORD FAIRFAX OF CAMERON

My Lords, I beg to ask the first question standing in my name.

[The question was as follows:

To ask His Majesty's Government whether Edinburgh is the only major capital in Europe that is without an air line.]

LORD NATHAN

My Lords, it is true that there is at present no civil airline serving Edinburgh, and I believe it is true that no major European capital is without an airline. Regular civil services will be started on completion of the work of adequately equipping the Turnhouse aerodrome, which I anticipate will be in the early part of next year.

LORD FAIRFAX OF CAMERON

I am grateful to the noble Lord for his full reply.
