1304§ On not one of these points can I feel that either the noble Earl or the noble Viscount has really satisfied us, or even that either of them attempted to deal with the case. I was most anxious that we should not have to press this Motion. It seems to me that it would have been very much better if we had not to do so. It may be—I sincerely hope it will be so—that the Government will agree to accept what seem to me to be the most reasonable terms of the Motion. I hope that they will do so, but, in any event, I feel that I must ask your Lordships if you will support me in pressing for the acceptance of this Motion.
