HL Deb 20 February 1946 vol 139 cc827-8

Order of the Day for the Third Reading read.

LORD WALKDEN

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be read a third time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 3a.—(Lord Walkden.)

LORD CORNWALLIS

My Lords, before this Bill finally completes its passage into law, may I, on behalf of the County of Kent and the Rochester Bridge Wardens, thank the Government, not only for the courteous way in which they received the deputation that went to see them about that very ancient Trust, but also for the manner in which it was dealt with in another place and the way in which it has been received here. I can assure you, speaking not only as a Rochester Bridge Warden but as His Majesty's Lieutenant of the County, that the whole County is extremely grateful to you.

On Motion, Bill read 3a, with the Amendment, and passed, and returned to the Commons.
