§ Report from the India and Burma Orders Committee, That they have examined the Order as required by the Standing Orders of the House; that the Order is made under the urgency procedure provided for by the proviso to subsection (1) of Section 157 of the Government of Burma Act, 1935; that in their opinion the Order raises important questions of policy and principle which have, however, already been accepted by 494 the House when passing the Government of Burma (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1945; that the Order is not founded on precedent; that in the opinion of the Committee the Order cannot be passed by the House without further attention, but that no further inquiry is necessary before the House proceeds to a decision on the Resolution to approve the making of the said Order.
