HL Deb 23 August 1945 vol 137 c153
THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR DOMINION AFFAIRS (VISCOUNT ADDISON)

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion which stands in my name. This is necessary because of certain Service anomalies which will be explained to your Lordships by my noble friend when he moves the Second Reading of the Bill. It is necessary to get the Bill through as soon as possible.

Moved, That Standing Order No. XXXIX be considered in order to its being dispensed with, for the purpose of passing the Local Elections (Service. Abroad) Bill through its remaining stages.—(Viscount Addison.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.
