§ VISCOUNT ADDISONMy Lords, before we adjourn there are two other matters which I ought to mention to your Lordships. In the first place, I desire to say that owing to the two days' holiday it has not been possible to give adequate publicity to the arrangements for the attendance of members of your Lordships' House at the Thanksgiving Service which will be held at St. Paul's Cathedral on Sunday next at three o'clock and which Their Majesties have expressed their intention to attend. A limited number of tickets have been reserved for members of your Lordships' House, and application for them should be made as soon as possible to the office of the Clerk of the Parliaments. I may say that when it was reported to me what the number had 83 been previously, I expressed serious dissatisfaction concerning its inadequacy and it has now been substantially increased.
The other matter is this. It may be for the convenience of the House if I say a word as to the ceremony on Tuesday next when His Majesty has notified his pleasure to come to the Royal Gallery to receive the loyal Address voted by your Lordships yesterday. It is proposed that the House shall meet at eleven o'clock, and after prayers the Lord Chancellor will leave the House for the Royal Gallery. Seats for members of the House of Lords will be reserved in the gallery on the right of the dais. It is suggested that as many of your Lordships as can do so should go directly to the gallery and take their seats before the Lord Chancellor's procession arrives. When the Lords are seated, the Speaker's procession will enter. The arrival of His Majesty has been fixed, as your Lordships will have heard, for half-past eleven. I thought that it might be convenient and acceptable if I reminded your Lordships of these two matters.
