HL Deb 26 September 1944 vol 133 cc169-70
VISCOUNT CRANBORNE

My Lords, in moving the adjournment of the House there is one word which I should like to say. The number of noble Lords who wish to speak to-morrow on the Motion standing in the name of Lord Balfour of Burleigh on land use is so considerable that the debate will have to be continued on Thursday. I thought that I had better warn the House of that tonight. I should also say that on Thursday the first business will be the Committee stage of the Liabilities (Wartime Adjustment) Bill, whose passage through Parliament is a matter of some urgency. That will come first, and we shall then continue with the adjourned debate on the Motion by Lord Balfour of Burleigh.

Moved, That the House do now adjourn.—(Viscount Cranborne.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

House adjourned at ten minutes past five o'clock.
