§ LORD TEMPLEMOREMy Lords, on behalf of my noble friend the Leader of the House, I beg to move the following Resolution: That the Lord Stanmore be appointed to take the Chair in all Committees of this House for the remainder of the Session; that the Lord Stanmore do take the Chair in all Committees of the Whole House, unless where it shall have been otherwise directed by the House; that the Lord Stanmore do also take the Chair in all Committees upon Private Bills and other matters, unless where it shall have been otherwise directed by the House.
§ Moved, That the Lord Stanmore be appointed to take the Chair in all Committees of this House for the remainder of the Session; that the Lord Stanmore do take the Chair in all Committees of the Whole House, unless where it shall have been otherwise directed by the House; that the Lord Stanmore do also take the Chair in all Committees upon Private Bills and other matters, unless where it shall have been otherwise directed by the House.—(Lord Templemore).
§ LORD ADDISONMy Lords, on behalf of my noble friends I wish to express our accord with the Resolution.
§ VISCOUNT SAMUELMy Lords, I think the House is fortunate in having in Lord Stanmore a Deputy Chairman with long experience of the duties of this office. His appointment as Chairman of Committees for the remainder of the Session will be specially welcome, if I may say so, to noble Lords who sit on these Benches since he has been so long, so closely and so congenially associated with us for a period now of no less than thirty years. His appointment will also, I believe, be welcome to the House as a whole, for he commands general and cordial good will.
§ On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.
