HL Deb 01 March 1944 vol 130 c1047
THE ACTING CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (LORD STANMORE)

My Lords, I beg to move that Standing Order No. 105 be considered in order to its being dispensed with in respect of this Bill. The Second Reading of this Bill is not within the time allowed under Standing Order No. 105 (that is to say within twenty-eight days after the First Reading thereof) owing to the special meeting of the company to approve the Bill under Standing Order No. 72 having been fixed for and held on the same day as the ordinary annual meeting of the company, in order to minimize the practical difficulties due to war conditions and to save expense. It is therefore respectfully asked that the Standing Order may be suspended.

Moved, That Standing Order No. 105 be considered in order to its feeing dispensed with in respect of the Bill.—(Lord Stanmore).

On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.

Bill read 2a, and committed: the Committee to be proposed by the Committee of Selection.
