My Lords, I beg to ask the question standing on the Paper in my name.

[The question was as follows:

To ask His Majesty's Government whether they are in a position to provide statistics about changes in the age groups of magistrates in juvenile courts since the end of October, 1943.]

My Lords, I have been asked to reply to this question. As the answer contains a number of figures, I will, with the noble Lord's permission, circulate it in the Official Report.

The answer was as follows:

Returns of the new juvenile court panels which took office in November, 1943, have been received from 977 of the 986 petty sessional divisions, and a classification of the ages of the justices in five-year groups gives the following results:
