HL Deb 21 September 1943 vol 129 c2
VISCOUNT FITZALAN OF DERWENT

My Lords, I beg to ask leave to put the following question of which I have given private notice—namely, whether the Government can make any statement as to the occupation of Rome by the Germans, and what is the position in the city of Rome and the Vatican State.

THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (VISCOUNT CRANBORNE) (Lord Cecil)

My Lords, perhaps the noble Viscount will allow me to reply to his question in the course of my forthcoming statement on the war situation.
