HL Deb 25 May 1943 vol 127 c619
LORD ADDISON

My Lords, I wish to ask the noble Viscount, the Leader of the House, a question of which I have given him private notice—namely, whether His Majesty's Government will make available before the discussion on agricultural policy, which is to be raised by Lord Perry's Motion on the third day of this series of sittings, a copy of the memorandum submitted by the British delegation to the Food Conference now sitting at Hot Springs, Virginia, and reported in the Press of Monday, May 24.

THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (VISCOUNT CRANBORNE) (Lord Cecil)

My Lords, the full text of the proposals of the British delegation to the Food Conference at Hot Springs, Virginia, has I understand not yet been received, but I will certainly ask my right honourable friend the Foreign Secretary whether it will be possible in any way to meet the noble Lord's wishes. I am afraid that I am not in a position to-day to go further than that.

LORD ADDISON

I take it from that that, if it is physically possible, the noble Viscount will see that something is circulated?

VISCOUNT CRANBORNE

Yes, everything possible will be done.
