HL Deb 11 March 1943 vol 126 c583
THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (VISCOUNT CRANBORNE) (Lord Cecil)

My Lords, I regret to inform you of the death on active service of Lieut.-Colonel Colin Keppel Davidson, who, as many of your Lordships are aware, was Chief Clerk in the Committee Office on the staff of the Clerk of the Parliaments.

THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF ONSLOW)

My Lords, I hope you will pardon me if I say a word on the subject of the very greatly lamented death of Colonel Colin Davidson. He was Chief Clerk in the Committee Office, and my principal colleague. Your Lordships all knew him well, and I am sure you will agree with me that the House has lost by his death on active service a most able officer, whose death everyone will regret. I am sure that your Lordships will be in agreement with me in expressing our sorrow at this sad loss.
