§ Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.
§ THE LORD CHANCELLORMy Lords, I have to trouble the House with this Bill also, but it will not require very much exposition, and I do not think it can provoke any criticism. This is a pure Consolidation Bill, the object being to put into a single Statute what is now in four or five Statutes. If it be given a Second 492 Reading it will be sent to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills. I beg to move.
§ Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Lord Chancellor.)
§ On Question, Bill read 2a, and referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.
