HL Deb 09 March 1943 vol 126 cc491-2

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I have to trouble the House with this Bill also, but it will not require very much exposition, and I do not think it can provoke any criticism. This is a pure Consolidation Bill, the object being to put into a single Statute what is now in four or five Statutes. If it be given a Second Reading it will be sent to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Bill read 2a, and referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.
