Order of the Day for the consideration of the Third Report by the Select Committee read.

The Committee reported as follows:

1.—Civil Service War Bonus. The Committee sanctioned the application of Treasury Circular No. 8/43 for payment of War Bonus to the staff of the House of Lords to whom it applies.

2.—Library Attendant—Due for Retirement. The Committee approved an extension of service to Mr. Albert Edward Pettit, M.C., Library Attendant, from October 14, 1943, to May 4, 1944, inclusive and sanctioned a pension and additional allowance under the Superannuation Act, 1935, payable to him thereafter. The Committee authorized payment of salary to Mr. Pettit on his reappointment from May 5, 1944, as a temporary Library Attendant.

3.—A.R.P. Palace of Westminster. The Committee sanctioned a weekly increase in pay to the Custodian Auxiliaries and an additional payment to Mr. W. Lewis, fireman, for clerical work in the A.R.P. office, as recommended by the Fire Committee.

4.—Salary of Resident Housekeeper. The report of the sub-committee on the salary of the Resident Housekeeper and on certain salaries and retired allowances was approved by the Committee.

5.—Official Report. The Committee agreed to the addition of the word "Hansard" after the words "Official Report" on the Title page of the Parliamentary Debates.
