HL Deb 20 October 1942 vol 124 c660
LORD RANKEILLOUR

My Lords, in the momentary absence of the noble Duke, the Duke of Devonshire, who is in charge of the India and Burma (Temporary and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, may I ask on a point of Order, whether it would be possible to proceed with another Bill on the Paper and later revert to the Order of Business on the Order Paper?

VISCOUNT CRANBORNE

My Lords, I am sorry to say that the noble Duke is not yet here. I think therefore it would be for the convenience of the House if we took other Orders first, and we could later proceed with the main debate.
