HL Deb 13 October 1942 vol 124 c611

Clause 1, page 1, line 13, at end insert ("or, as the context may require, as if he were the mortgagor")

Clause 2, page 2, line 10, after ("and") insert ("in paragraph (d) of the proviso to that subsection")

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I move that this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments. I think that we can take them together. This Bill, as your Lordships may recall, was passed by your Lordships in July last, and is accepted in all quarters as a useful and necessary amendment to the Courts (Emergency Powers) Act; but, on further examination of the text of the Bill, it was found desirable, for the removal of all doubt, to make in the Commons the two small Amendments which are now before us. They do not in any way alter the essential character of the Bill; they merely make more clear what is its purpose and effect.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
