HL Deb 06 May 1942 vol 122 cc943-4
LORD DAVIES

My Lords, I beg to ask the question standing in my name.

[The question was as follows:

To ask His Majesty's Government whether they will give an undertaking that no new premises or commitments regarding the future of Palestine shall be entered into without prior consultation with all the parties concerned.]

VISCOUNT CRANBORNE

My Lords, while I would make it clear that there has been no change in the policy of His Majesty's Government with regard to Palestine, the noble Lord may rest assured that His Majesty's Government will not enter into commitments regarding the future of that country without prior consultation with all those, including both Arabs and Jews, whom they may judge to be concerned.
