HL Deb 02 June 1942 vol 123 c1
LORD ADDISON

My Lords, may I ask His Majesty's Government whether they can make any statement about the coal policy?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (VISCOUNT CRANBORNE) (Lord Cecil)

My Lords, in answer to the noble Lord's question I have to say that the proposals of His Majesty's Government in regard to coal will be available to noble Lords in the form of a White Paper before the House rises on the next sitting day. The Government will invite your Lordships to approve of the proposals by means of a Motion which will be put down for debate on the third sitting day of next week.
