To ask His Majesty's Government whether the appointment of Field-Marshal Sir John Dill as Governor-designate of Bombay is in any way affected by his appointment in Washington.]

My Lords, I would remind the noble Lord of the fact that the Field-Marshal is not due to assume office as Governor of Bombay until September next.
