HL Deb 15 April 1942 vol 122 c651
LORD SOUTHWOOD

My Lords, I beg to ask the question standing in my name.

[The question was as follows:

To ask His Majesty's Government whether the inquiry promised by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in June of last year into the cost of schemes of family allowances has been completed, and whether it is now possible to publish the results of that inquiry.]

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT SIMON)

My Lords, the investigation which my right honourable friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer undertook in relation to family allowances is approaching completion.
