§ Order of the Day for the consideration of Commons Amendments read.
§ THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT SIMON)My Lords, you will remember that this Bill originated in this House, and it was carried with universal approval, it being a measure which is designed to help those who are put in a position of financial difficulty owing to the circumstances of the war by providing for arrangements or adjustments in 344 their business affairs. The Bill has received universal support in another place, but in the course of the proceedings there a number of Amendments have been made, all of them, I think, at the instance of the Government. It is with these Amendments that we now have to deal. I move that these Amendments be now considered.
§ Moved, That the Commons Amendments be now considered.—(The Lord Chancellor.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
