HL Deb 22 April 1941 vol 119 cc27-8
LORD DAVIES

My Lords, I beg leave to postpone the first question standing in my name, regarding the private funds alleged to have been deposited outside Germany by leading members of the Nationalist Socialist Party, but will ask the second.

The question was as follows:

[To ask His Majesty's Government whether it is intended that all recruits in the Air Training Corps will be provided with educational facilities enabling them to attain the requisite educational standard in higher mathematics and cognate subjects to qualify for flying duties.]

LORD SNELL

My Lords, the cadets of the Air Training Corps receive training in order to fit them for service as air crews or for technical duties. Cadets who are below the educational standard required for air crew training, but who are otherwise suitable, are provided with educational facilities to bring them up to the required standard.
