HL Deb 22 October 1940 vol 117 cc568-70
LORD SNELL

My Lords, you will have received a notice acquainting you of the next meeting of the House, when it is proposed that we should take the Consolidation Fund Bill through all its stages, as well as the remaining stages of the Securities (Validation) Bill, which we read a first time this morning.

LORD ADDISON

My Lords, may I ask the noble Lord the Deputy Leader of the House whether he could give us any information as to whether the Bill to prolong the life of Parliament will be likely to come before us soon?

LORD SNELL

My Lords, in answer to the noble Lord the Bill will not be unnecessarily delayed, but I cannot tell how long it will take to get through all its stages in another place. I have no evidence that it will be available to your Lordships next week.

House adjourned.
