HL Deb 25 July 1940 vol 116 c1082
LORD STRABOLGI

My Lords, may I ask my noble friend the Deputy Leader of the House whether he has any statement to make about the business for next week?

LORD SNELL

My Lords, on Tuesday next, July 30, we shall take the Second Reading of the Emergency Powers (Defence) (No. 2) Bill, which has been read a first time this afternoon. We shall expect to receive the Workmen's Compensation (Supplementary Allowances) (No. 2) Bill from another place. On Wednesday, July 31, we shall take the remaining stages of the Emergency Powers Bill. Lord Barnby is putting down a question for the same afternoon on the subject of war production in this country and in Canada, and is moving for Papers. On Thursday, August 1, there will be a Royal Commission, and the Workmen's Compensation Bill will be read a second time. There is no other public business at present in prospect for that day. The House will meet at four o'clock each afternoon.

House adjourned at twenty-one minutes past four o'clock.
