HL Deb 20 February 1940 vol 115 c557
THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF ONSLOW)

My Lords, I beg to move, That Standing Order No. 105 be considered in order to its being dispensed with in respect of the Coventry Corporation Bill, the King Edward the Seventh Welsh National Memorial Association Bill and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Bill. The reason for this is that Private Bills cannot be read a second time in your Lordships' House until the Attorney General's Report has been received, and the Attorney General's Report did not arrive until after the seventh day from the First Reading. Your Lordships are therefore asked to suspend the Standing Order, and I beg to move accordingly.

Moved, That Standing Order No. 105 be considered in order to its being dispensed with in respect of the said Bills.—(The Earl of Onslow.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.
