HL Deb 03 December 1940 vol 118 c62

VISCOUNT TRENCHARD had given Notice that he would ask His Majesty's Government whether they stand by their declaration of the 16th of October last on the organisation of the Royal Air Force; and move for Papers. The noble Viscount said: My Lords, I ask leave to postpone the Motion standing in my name, which I think in these days is a very important and vital Motion, until the next sitting day. I must apologise for any inconvenience caused to your Lordships, but it was only last night that I was asked by the Government if I would agree to postponing the Motion.
