("Provided that this Act shall not apply to a duty or power imposed or conferred by an Act passed, or an Order made, after the passing of this Act, unless the contrary intention appears in that Act or Order.")
§ LORD TEMPLEMOREMy Lords, this Amendment is very little more than a drafting Amendment, which makes it clear that it will not be possible by these Orders to vary dates fixed in some future Statute, unless Parliament gives that power in the Statute itself. This was the intention of the Bill as originally presented, but this Amendment is designed to remove doubts which have since arisen in connection with certain Private Bill legislation. I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment.
