HL Deb 14 September 1939 vol 114 c1060

3.13 p.m.

THE MINISTER FOR THE CO-ORDINATION OF DEFENCE (LORD CHATFIELD)

My Lords, I beg to move that the Special Order, as reported from the Special Orders Committee yesterday, be approved. I do not think it is necessary for me to say more than that this Order transfers legal and Ministerial responsibility for the Government reserve of petroleum for civil purposes from the Board of Trade to the Ministry of Supply under the Ministry of Supply Act. It is the last of the commodities dealt with under the special machinery of the Essential Commodities Reserves Act left to be transferred. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Special Order, as reported from the Special Orders Committee yesterday, be approved.—(Lord Chatfield.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
