HL Deb 01 August 1939 vol 114 cc767-8

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

5.12 p.m.

LORD TEMPLEMORE

My Lords, this Bill, as your Lordships are aware, is a Bill which is passed by Parliament every year after the Finance Bill in order to confirm the Customs Resolution of the Manx Legislature. It is a Bill well known to your Lordships, and I do not think I need trouble you with a speech on this occasion. I might remark that this year there are no new features about the Bill, which is certified as a Money Bill under the Parliament Act. I beg to move that it be now read a second time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(Lord Templemore.)

On Question, Bill read 2a; Committee negatived.

Then, Standing Order No. XXXIX having been suspended in pursuance of the Resolution of the House of Monday, July 24, Bill read 3a, and passed.
