HL Deb 28 June 1938 vol 110 c384
LORD STRABOLGI

My Lords, may I ask on behalf of my noble friend the Leader of the Opposition if the noble Earl has any announcement to make with regard to the business for to-morrow?

EARL STANHOPE

My Lords, there is no other business except that which appears on the Paper. It was anticipated that we were likely to take a longer time over the concluding stages of the Coal Bill and therefore notice was given that the House would meet at three o'clock to-morrow. I think in the circumstances perhaps it would be well to let that arrangement stand. If we meet at three o'clock at any rate it will enable us to get away somewhat sooner than if we meet at the normal time. We will therefore meet at three o'clock and the only business will be that on the Order Paper.

LORD STRABOLGI

My Lords, there is no objection to that, but may I say that I think it was understood that it was possible that we might meet at three o'clock on Thursday also in case there was a lot of business on the Paper. Is it proposed that we should meet at three o'clock on Thursday?

EARL STANHOPE

Yes.

House adjourned at a quarter before eight o'clock.
