HL Deb 19 July 1938 vol 110 cc941-2

Clause 6, page 4, 1ine 6, after ("years") insert ("continuously")

LORD ALNESS

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment. This Amendment was made in order to bring the provision exactly in line with the provision in the English Act of 1937. It was thought that if the word "continuously" was omitted—personally I do not think it is necessary—there might be some suggestion of a difference between the law of England and the law of Scotland in the matter, whereas there is none.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Airless.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
