HL Deb 23 February 1938 vol 107 c826
THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF ONSLOW)

My Lords, I beg to move that Standing Order No. 105 be considered in order to its being dispensed with in respect of the Nottingham Corporation Bill, and that the Bill be now read 2a. Perhaps I might explain that it is necessary to ask your Lordships to dispense with Standing Order No. 105 because this Bill was held up for the convenience of the noble Lord, Lord Chesham, who proposed to make certain Amendments. Those are now withdrawn, and therefore there is no reason why the Bill should not be proceeded with.

Moved, That Standing Order No. 105 be considered in order to its being dispensed with in respect of the said Bill, and that the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Earl of Onslow.)

On Question, Motion agreed to: Bill read 2a accordingly, and committed: the Committee to be proposed by the Committee of Selection.
