HL Deb 27 May 1937 vol 105 c265
VISCOUNT ELIBANK

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion which stands in my name, that leave be given to advance from Wednesday, June 2, to Tuesday, June 1 next, my Motion relating to the "inconvenience caused to many members of their Lordships' House, and others, owing to the breakdown in the motor car arrangements after the conclusion of the Coronation Service in Westminster Abbey" on May 12. My Motion will take a very few words to explain. I placed the Motion down for June 2, but I have since ascertained that it will be more convenient to some of your Lordships if it were taken the day before. I went into the question of having it taken the following day or the day after, but unfortunately other business intervened, and consequently I have to ask your Lordships whether you would be prepared to give me leave to advance the Motion by one day and to take it on Tuesday next instead of on Wednesday. I beg to move.

Moved, That leave be given to Viscount Elibank to advance his Motion, which now stands for Wednesday, the 2nd of June, to Tuesday, the 1st of June.—(Viscount Elibank.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and leave given accordingly.
