HL Deb 04 March 1937 vol 104 cc527-8

The University 'of Rangoon Act, 1920.

Section 11.—For clause (m) of subsection (1) substitute: (m) eight members elected by the members of the House of Representatives and two members elected by the members of the senate.

THE MARQUESS OF ZETLAND moved to omit this paragraph. The noble Marquess said: This Amendment might be described as something more than a drafting Amendment. What happened was this, that two alternative forms of adaptation were under consideration in connection with the University of Rangoon Act. By an oversight the two alternative forms of adaptation were included in the Schedule, and it is quite obvious therefore that one of them must be removed. The purpose of this Amendment is to remove one of them. I beg to move.
