Incidental Provisions as to Livestock Advisory

Committee.

1. Every member of the Livestock Advisory Committee (hereafter in this Schedule referred to as "the Committee") shall hold and vacate office in accordance with the terms of the instrument under which he is appointed; but nothing in this paragraph shall be taken to prevent a member of the Committee resigning his office, and a member of the Committee who ceases to hold office shall be eligible for re-appointment to the Committee.

THE EARL OF FEVERSHAM moved, in paragraph I, after "the Committee," to insert "and every other person being a member of the English sub-committee, the Scottish sub-committee or the Welsh sub-committee." The noble Earl said: This Amendment is designed to apply the provisions relating to conditions of appointment to these additional representative persons as well as to the members of the main Committee.

THE EARL OF FEVERSHAM moved, in paragraph 1, to leave out "nothing in this paragraph shall be taken to prevent a member of the Committee resigning his office," and insert "notwithstanding anything in such an instrument, any member of the Committee or of any of the said sub-committees may resign his office by a written notice given under his hand to the Ministers or to the appropriate Minister as the case may be." The noble Earl said: This Amendment, in effect, provides that if any member of the Livestock Advisory Committee or of any of its sub-committees wishes to resign his office, he may do so by means of a written notice.
