HL Deb 08 June 1937 vol 105 cc368-9
THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY OF THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES (THE EARL OF FEVERSHAM)

My Lords, I beg to move, That leave be given to advance the Motion for the House to be put into Committee on the Livestock Industry Bill (which stands appointed for Tuesday the 15th instant) to Thursday the 10th instant. It has been intimated to me by certain noble Lords that they would be ready to consider the Livestock Industry Bill in Committee at a somewhat earlier date than Tuesday next, June 15. Your will be aware that it is now proposed to take on Tuesday the Second Reading of the Ministers of the Crown Bill, which has just come to us from another place and which is an important measure to which no doubt your Lordships would wish to give full consideration. In these circumstances it is thought that it would perhaps facilitate the business of your Lordships' House and be generally more convenient if the Committee stage of the Livestock Industry Bill were taken on Thursday next instead of on Tuesday the 15th. I trust that your Lordships will see no objection to this alteration being made.

Moved, That leave be given to advance the Motion for the House to be put into Committee on the Livestock Industry Bill (which stands appointed for Tuesday the 15th instant) to Thursday the 10th instant.—(The Earl of Feversham.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and leave given accordingly.
