HL Deb 08 December 1937 vol 107 cc373-4

Brought from the Commons.

THE EARL OF LUCAN

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be read a first time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 1a.— (The Earl of Lucan.)

THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (VISCOUNT HALIFAX)

My Lords, perhaps this would be a convenient opportunity for me to take to inform your Lordships that we propose to ask the House to meet for the debate on the Second Reading of this Bill on Monday next, December 13, at three o'clock. We have appointed an earlier hour than usual, because I understand many of your Lordships may wish to speak on this important matter, and it is necessary that we should conclude the debate at a single sitting, in order that we may take the Committee stage on the following Thursday, December 16.

On Question, Bill read 1a, and to be printed.
