HL Deb 11 March 1936 vol 99 cc1000-2

Order of the Day for the House to be put into Committee on re-commitment of the Bill read.

Moved, That the House do now resolve itself into Committee.—(The Earl of Faversham.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

House in Committee accordingly:

[The EARL OF ONSLOW in the Chair.]

THE EARL OF FEVERSHAM

My Lords, in the absence of the noble and learned Viscount the Lord Chancellor, who has had to leave the House, I wish to say that this Bill, being a Consolidation Bill, was referred in the usual way to the Joint Select Committee on Consolidation Bills. The Committee have now presented a Report in which they state that subject to certain Amendments the Bill reproduces the law contained in the Acts which it is proposed to repeal. It is necessary that the Amendments proposed by the Select Committee should be approved by the whole House in Committee, and I beg to move that that be done.

Moved, That the Amendments proposed by the Joint Select Committee on Consolidation Bills be made.—(The Earl of Feversham.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

House adjourned at twenty minutes past six o'clock.
