THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT HAILSHAM)

My Lords, I have received from the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs a copy of a Note which has been received, through His Majesty's High Commissioner for Egypt and the Sudan, from the Grand Chamberlain of His Majesty the King of Egypt, expressing the grateful thanks of King Farouk and of the Royal Family, the Government and people of Egypt for the sympathy shown to them by the King, the Houses of Parliament, and people of Great Britain on the occasion of the death of His Majesty King Fuad. Your Lordships will recollect that a Motion for an address of sympathy to His Majesty was passed by your Lordships' House on the fifth day of May last.

The said note together with the letter of the Secretary of State were ordered to lie on the Table and to be entered on the Journals.
